About us

Daunish Cultural Association is a non-profit organization established in 2007 in California, with the mission of providing social, educational, and cultural services to Afghans from all backgrounds, regardless of ethnicity, religion, or gender. The association seeks to create a platform for the Afghan community to enhance cultural knowledge, while fostering an environment for intellectual exchange on a wide array of topics.

The association regularly hosts cultural and academic conferences, where scholars, researchers, and cultural activists engage in discussions on significant cultural and social matters. These events are designed to promote awareness and encourage dialogue within the Afghan community. In addition to organizing these events, the association publishes scholarly articles and cultural papers, contributing to the spread of knowledge and raising public awareness. Research in literary and cultural fields is another core activity, aimed at preserving and promoting Afghanistan’s rich cultural and literary heritage.

Supporting Afghan writers and artists is also a key focus of Daunish Cultural Association. The association offers platforms for these individuals to thrive by facilitating opportunities for growth and collaboration. It organizes sessions to review and interpret prominent literary and artistic works, providing insightful analysis of Afghanistan's artistic and literary contributions. Moreover, the association celebrates important historical and cultural events, ensuring that younger generations stay connected to their roots and history
